Every day I’m bloggin’…oh, the blogger life. I’ve been in the bloggin’ game about 8 months now and can barely remember life before I was a blogger. Blogging has become a hobby of mine and it’s been such a fun journey – I am so grateful for each and everyone that has supported and encouraged me along the way. I wanted to share a little blogging FAQ for both current bloggers and anyone who is thinking about starting a blog. But first things first…let’s talk about my outfit and the brand I was lucky to collaborate with 🙂
Romwe is an online boutique that specializes in bringing the most stylish street styles straight to your closet! Everything they carry on their site is a total steal – you can look so fab at such affordable prices. The best part of the Romwe site is they have a ‘Daily New‘ section, so you can see new arrivals added on the fly. This concept truly brings fast fashion to your fingertips!
This fun, red-hot Bloggin’ sweatshirt is from Romwe, and I could not be more obsessed with it. It’s perfect for any blogger, and can you believe that it’s under $20? It’s a crew neck sweatshirt and it’s almost cropped length (but not quite). This is perfect to just lounge around in paired with some leggings, but I went for an edgy look with my outfit. I wore it with some satin black shorts and these wild lace-up heeled boots (which by the way, totally creates the illusion of long legs!) These cute black sunnies and my black furry clutch totally completes this bloggin’ styled (no pun intended?) look!

A huge thanks to Romwe for collaborating on this post. As always, all opinions are my own.

As promised, I’ve also included a blogging FAQ and tips below! I do want to preface this by saying that I am by no means an expert on blogging, but just wanted to share some of my thoughts based off of my experiences thus far. 🙂
- “Should I start one?” Ever since I announced that I launched my blog, I’ve gotten a lot of questions from my friends who have been thinking of starting one. From fitness, food, life, fashion…there’s so much to talk about and I say, DO IT! But wait, not so fast. I say do it if you are completely passionate about what you plan to write about. I’ve said this before, but blogging honestly takes up A LOT of time and it’s best to start when you are in the right mindset and ready to take on this fun hobby! Take some time and think about why you want to start one. Don’t get discouraged by how many blogs exist – this sounds so cliché but no matter who you are, you are unique and that will shine through your writing! Remember, you have to love what you do or it will feel like work (and no one wants extra work, right?!).
- “How did you decide on a blog name?” The best advice I can give on this one is don’t rush deciding on a blog name! Your blog name is the first thing that your followers see, and it is a great indication of who you are and what you / your blog are all about. I love a play on words and am all about puns, so I brainstormed for months to come up with a name that creatively described what my blog would encompass. P.S…I love coming up with blog names (I came up with two of my friends blog names and am in the process of helping a few others!) and getting my creative juices flowing, so please don’t hesitate to send me a note and I can brainstorm with you! I also recommend checking social media + domain sites to see if the name you come up with is already taken – I personally think it’s best to have one consistent blog name on all platforms, it just makes it easier to be found 🙂
- “How do you even get started on creating a blog?” Four simple steps! First, choose a blogging platform. I use wordpress.org (it’s the most popular for bloggers and it’s easily customizable because it’s self hosted), and I like it. Second, choose a hosting site. There are a good amount of hosting sites to choose from, but after researching a ton on which one would work best for me – I chose bluehost and it has been pretty easy to use! Third, buy your domain name (aka your blog name – you can do this through bluehost easily). Lastly, start designing your blog! There are some free templates within wordpress, or you can invest in a designed template based on your aesthetic. I’ve honestly taught myself so much about how to design/navigate through creating a blog, just through google 😉
- “How often should you post?” This is completely up to you and obviously what you have time for / how much content you have ready to post! I started out posting every few days, then every other day, and now I post every day because I got into the routine (with the exception of some Saturdays 😉 ). I have a calendar (that I just created myself in excel) where I plan out what I’m posting because it’s much more easier to manage + you can see how your feed will look! Two apps I am a HUGE fan of – ‘Preview’: this app lets you see how your instafeed will look without you actually posting to your real instagram account. ‘UNUM’: this app shows you the best days/times to post based on previous posting data, the best hashtags you’ve used, and trends of your likes/comments/followers numbers.
- “How did you grow your followers / engagement?” I would focus on three things for this: content, networking, and time. Content: seems obvious, but get the best content out there. Whether it’s trying out new photo editing programs, finding a great professional photographer/camera, or brainstorming creative content to feature, do everything you can to show your audience who you are and what you stand for in the best way possible. Never stop working on making your content better! Networking: Engagement with others is so important. The blogger community is huge and super supportive! I feel like I have so many blogger friends that I’ve never even met in real life, who are all SO encouraging. I also luckily live in NYC where there are a lot of blogger events, so I’ve been blessed with meeting other blogger gals and staying in touch. Time: Gaining a strong, large follower base takes time. It’s easy to play the comparing game, but don’t do it! There are always going to be bloggers with more followers, likes, comments, etc. than you, but that should not matter. You will get where you want to be with patience and goal setting. The best way to stay encouraged is to remember why you even started blogging in the first place 🙂
- “In general, how do I become a better blogger?” I would say research. I was lucky to already know a ton about the blogging world from my previous job where I managed a blogger program, but I still never stop researching ways to become a better blogger. I follow a lot of other fashion blogs and continuously get inspiration. I google blogging tips and advice. I work on my blog’s SEO (search engine optimization) so that it can be easily discoverable. I research the best blogger networks that I can be a part of. I look up fashion events that I can get involved in and share with my followers. The list is endless!
