Lace It Up

Lace-up booties, lace-up tees, lace-up sweaters…it’s no secret that the lace-up trend is a hit this season. There’s something about the flirty, sexy statement of a lace-up that makes it one of the most enticing pieces to wear. The tiny bit of skin that shows through a gorgeous lace-up gives off the perfect amount of eye catching appeal. Below are three main tips to rock a lace-up tee like mine:

1. Pair it with a plain/neutral bottom – you don’t want to take too much attention away from the lace detailing, so I would recommend staying away from a bottom with too much pattern or print! I paired mine with a plain black skort, but especially now that it’s getting colder…this tee would look fab with a pair of black jeans or leggings.
2. Lace it up just the right amount – this is probably a given, but you don’t want to tie your lace-up too tight or too loose. Tying it up too tight would look like a kid’s shoelaces, and tying it too loose would be too revealing / not too classy 😉 Also, I choose not to tie a bow at the top and leave the remainder of the strings dangling to create that relaxed look.
3. Keep your accessories to a minimum – I would normally NEVER suggest this, but like mentioned before – you want to keep the focus on the lace-up! It will stand out regardless, but too many accessories or jewelry would just be a distraction.
