New year, same love for velvet! I think back on my elementary school days, and remember that I actually have always had a love for velvet. When I was little, I used to get so excited for a special occasion because it would give me the opportunity to wear one of my velvet dresses. Some things never change I guess! I’m swooning over the velvet trend this season and praying it doesn’t fade away anytime soon.
OTK (over-the-knee) boots have been taking OVER every gals’ legs this season. They’re just so wonderful because they flatter any and all size legs. I dig how versatile they are – pairing them with a skirt, dress, leggings, jeans – basically everything works well with them and turns out looking great! My black velvet boots from Zaful are my fave (not surprising, because we all know I’m a total fangirl for Zaful). These adorable boots have a little bit of a heel, but not too much – I could walk miles in them with no problem, that’s how comfy they are (thanks to the chunky heel)! In the back, you can tie them to make them a little tighter around your thighs – which is really nice for us petite girlies.
I decided to pair them with white leggings; I wouldn’t recommend wearing black leggings or black jeans with them, because they would get lost in all the black and no one would be able to see where the OTK part starts! Of course I just HAD to wear my velvet choker too (also from Zaful), because velvet with velvet is the way to go. I wore a baggy, oversized, off-the-shoulder sweater in this look because it was the perfect length (I’m a big advocate of making sure that the behind is covered when I wear leggings 😉 ). Lastly, I recently bought this darling gold clutch that totally completes the outfit in my opinion – love me some black and gold contrasts!

A huge thanks to Zaful for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
