Have y’all noticed that my instafeed has been filled with black and red lately? Some of my followers have commented on that, and it’s funny because it’s so true. I blame the Valentine’s craze! Well, maybe I started getting into the ‘love’ theme, but let’s be real – I’ve always had an obsession with black and red. There’s something about those colors together that makes an outfit look so edgy! I wrote about this before in my ‘About Me’ – the way I would describe my style is chic and feminine, with a bit of an edge. I feel like this look that I’m sharing with y’all accurately describes that edgy side of myself.
I previously collaborated with the online boutique Shein (see previous post here), where I wore a stylish mauve duster coat. This time, I’m rocking this wild lips jacket which is also from that same boutique! I love that Shein carries a wide range of clothing (all super fashionable pieces) that caters to all types of styles.
I actually wore this outfit on Valentine’s Day – where I spent my entire day attending New York Fashion Shows. I received so many compliments on my jacket! The intricate sequins are so bright and shiny, and it really makes the lips pop against the black jacket. The black denim jacket is cropped and a little bit frayed at the bottom – so fun! I ended up getting a small instead of an extra small since I didn’t want the length to be too short, and I’m in love with the fit. I really like wearing it resting on my shoulders instead of actually putting it on – which totally creates the illusion that I’m cool (kidding, kind of).
I wore a cropped ¾ sleeve black and white striped top under it, red leather skirt, my FAVORITE fishnet tights from Berkshire Legwear, and thigh-high heeled boots. In my opinion, this whole look just screams sexy and rebellious – and seriously, what girl doesn’t want to feel like that at times?! 😉 For my accessories, of course I had to pair it with my acrylic telephone chained purse (call me maybe?), black/gold jewelry and black sunnies. I also decided to wear red lipstick (a rare occurrence, I’m embarrassingly a total chapstick girl!) to match my jacket 🙂
