I mean, I’ll admit it…I’m a busy gal. I’ve especially felt like I’ve been insanely busy the past few months. I work a full time job and run a part time blog. I make sure to prioritize seeing/catching up with my friends/bf, as well as Facetime-ing my family often. I work out and clean my room/apt on a frequent basis. This summer, I’ve traveled to the below places and was gone for multiple weekends in a row:
Houston– kicked the summer off back in my hometown and surprised my mama for Mother’s Day! It made my heart happy to see my family & high school/college peeps, and I already want to go back ASAP.
North Carolina– spent the July 4th holiday weekend here! Super relaxing and the best spot to celebrate America ๐
Chicago– this was the first time I visited Chitown in the summer (BOO windy cold winter weather with no skyways) – took a spur of the moment trip here with the bf, unshamelessly acting like a couple of tourists all weekend long!
Hamptons– headed to Montauk with the gals and had the perfect weather weekend. This will definitely become an annual thing for us! So much love for the relaxation and beautiful views. P.S…a full recap on this trip is coming soon!
Minneapolis– all of my Target peeps got to reunite in an airbnb together, celebrating the marriage of cutest couple ever! Definitely brought back so many fun memories and made me realize how much I really do miss living in that city (don’t laugh at me…) ๐
Arizona– spent the week in this 100 degree weather spot (phew) for a work sales conference. My roomie and I still had fun “hiking” some red rock canyons and taking some cool pics.
Los Angeles– my roomie and I had our annual trip together in Lala land! Coincidentally, the USC vs. UT game was going on that weekend (what a bad Longhorn I am…I wasn’t even aware) – so I was able to see so many Texas peeps that I haven’t seen in YEARS!
The fact is, ALL of us probably see ourselves as busy. So how does one keep it together when you feel like time is flying and your life is racing by? I know I have been feeling tired and exhausted all the time lately, but I’m not one who likes to complain…I mean, I’ve been lucky enough to be up to some pretty fun things recently! When life seems crazy busy, there are 3 key points that I personally like to keep in the back of my head to try and maintain that ideal balanced life:
- Treat yo’ self. A day at the spa pampering yourself…heck yes. Some junk food (*cough* CHOCOLATE AND ICE CREAM! *cough*)…cookie monsters, unite. A shopping spree all day long…your wallet will hate you, but your closet won’t. ๐
- R&R – rest and relax! This is so important. Sometimes I just need to lay down in my bed, eyes closed, not thinking about anything. Sleeping as early as you can + short little naps help as well.
- Do activities that make you happy ๐ Put down your phone and go read a book! Spend a day at the park and stay active! Get some alone time and catch up on Netflix! Only you know what makes you happy…so go for it!
