Gossip Girl. Revenge. Something’s Gotta Give. Sex in The City. All of these shows/movies were filmed in the Hamptons with the most beautiful scenic beach views, so all of us have high expectations of what a trip to the Hamptons would be like. I’ve lived in New York for 2 years now, so my girls & I finally decided that it was time to be typical New Yorkers and plan a summer weekend trip to the Hamptons! To close out the season (and on the very last day of summer), I’m recapping my trip to Montauk (and the planning process) for y’all.
As for planning…START EARLY! My friends and I started researching places to stay at the very beginning of the Summer in May. We looked at every travel site and asked around for any New Yorker that owned a beach house in the Hamptons. We then decided to look at LivingSocial and Groupon…and *pssst* that’s where we found our hotel! On the site, you can see what days have already been taken, choose the exact days that you want to go based on availability – and then the price varies based on that. My friends and I booked ours for the end of August, and actually the price was not bad at all! Lodging can get VERY expensive, so definitely try to schedule out a trip as early as you can. Our place was SUPER nice too – shoutout to The Montauk Soundview!
Montauk is known to be more chill than the other Hamptons spots. Honestly, it was exactly what I needed. It was really quiet and relaxing, because mostly families were there. The beach views were amazing…seriously looked like a postcard! The restaurant choices there are pretty limited – they are all decorated super cute, pretty good food (especially for all you seafood eaters) – but of course pretty expensive. At night, we went out to the bars with people more our age ๐ , and it was so much fun (definitely different vibes than when you go out in the city). Also…I will warn you, ubers are SO expensive there! My advice would be to rent a car, because it would definitely be worth it. Each uber would be $20+ and it would be a destination that was like 5 minutes away.
Lastly, what you pack and wear to the Hamptons is SUPER important, obvi! Everyone dresses super cute and beachy there ๐ As I was getting ready for my Montauk vaca, conveniently I was in the process of collaborating with the cutest little boutiques - &  These fab brands got me more than ready for the perfect weekend!  is (not surprisingly) all about…color! It’s a chic brand that carries clothes, swimwear, and activewear with super fun prints in the most flattering silhouettes.  is a preppy, stylish brand that was inspired by traditional British influence. The boutique carries the cutest accessories and travelwear with the most darling prints. Below are all the items I took on my trip!
- All for Color – Y’all all know pink is my fave color, so I fell in love with this maxi immediately! The print is super cute, and the strapless cut is perfect. Sometimes it’s hard for me as a 5 ft gal to find a maxi that doesn’t drag on the floor, but this one was the perfect length (for reference – I’m wearing a size Small). It’s also that cotton stretch jersey fabric, so super soft material.
- All for Color Hot Tamale Off the Shoulder & Scallop – I received sooo many compliments on this cutie little swimsuit! My favorite part is that the top is off the shoulders, my fave! It’s super flattering on the chest area, while not being revealing at all #classy ๐ I also love the scallop detail of the bikini bottom – it’s full coverage and I don’t have much of a back side if you know what I mean ๐ , so I’m wearing a size small in the bottom as well!
- Sloane Ranger – Okay, how ADORABLE is this preppy print? The crabs are sooo cute! I know, this duffel bag looks totally frat-tastic – haha! It gives you SO much space for weekend trips, and is super convenient/easy to carry with the adjustable/removable straps + two handles.
P.S. – Fab news! Y’all can use coupon code ‘THELIVSTYLE’ to get  20% off $50+ orders plus free shipping! This can be used on both &  (One time use per customer. Not combinable with other offers. Expires 10.31.17.)
