Another season, another fashion week down! To this day, it still makes me feel like the luckiest gal getting to attend these fashion week shows consistently for the past two years. I love living in NYC so much because these shows are just a subway ride away 😛 It’s definitely tough to attend all the shows that I would ideally want to see, given that I have a full-time job and am only a part-time blogger- but I always try to go to as many as I can. This season was super successful, and the shows definitely did not disappoint. These designers are some of the best in the industry – it’s amazing to see all of the pieces so close up!
Before I get into the shows, there were two things that were awesome about this season –
- I convinced my bf to go to one of the shows with me! Let me tell y’all – he is definitely not a dude that is into this sort of thing, but he came to one of them and actually had a good time (I think). I told him he could check ‘Going to a NYFW show’ off of his bucket list, even though it was never on it 😛 It was super entertaining for me to watch his face throughout the show, haha.
- I ended up coincidentally sharing an uberPOOL with one of the models from the Lanyu show! She was super sweet, so naturally pretty, and insanely TALL! It was cool getting to hear about her experiences walking in the shows and being backstage.
Lanyu
(Source:Â Livingly)
Lanyu was founded in China, and designs RTW, wedding dresses, and fashion accessories. I’ve been to many shows over the past few years and this designer never ceases to amaze me with all of the stunning details, intricate touches, and beautiful flowy fabrics. The color white (total wedding vibes) took over the runway and was filled with chic blazers + darling dresses – all made out of silk, mesh, and lace. One word to describe it all…glam! Hong Kong Fashion

I really, really enjoyed this show because it consisted of three designers with different styles: Polly Ho, Harrison Wong, and Hidy Ng. Polly’s pieces were contemporary – the Chinese inspirations were very apparent through the various butterfly prints. Harrison’s line consisted of menswear that was super edgy and stylish, encompassing a ton of outerwear with unique patterns & prints. Lastly, Hidy’s line was super feminine and beautiful, with amazing lace embellishments and gorgeous ruffle deets. The HK Fashion after party was also a blast (catch my look here). Helen Anthony

I LOVED the eclectic, super quirky, bold vibes of the Helen Anthony. My bf went to this show with me and his jaw was dropped basically the whole time! This collection was inspired by the combo of East & West culture – it played on the blurring of gender norms. The male models strutted down the runway with bags & clutches, while the female models’ outfits looked more like typical menswear. I loved the message that Helen Anthony was trying to convey! Ennyluap
(Source: EstelaMag)
Ennyluap’s line consisted of contemporary womens’ clothing. I really enjoyed this collection because a ton of the pieces were very relatable to what I would actually wear. Blouses, dresses, skirts, pants – every look was classy, stylish and on-trend from head to toe. I adored the unique hairstyle (Princess Leia vibes) of all the models as well. View the full show here.
Nolcha – Gemma Hoi

Y’all know I am ALL about the denim – so I was ALL about this show (def a fave of mine!) Every denim piece was so unique and chic – dresses, skirts, coats…I couldn’t handle all the cuteness. The models slayed the runway with some fashion-forward goggles (should this be a thing now, haha?!) The collection was about ultimate feminism…which is fab in my opinion #fempower View the full show here.
Vivi Zubedi
(Source: FashionWeekOnline)
I was obsessed with the Vivi Zubedi collection! The designer is originally from Indonesia, so the collection displayed gorgeous traditional Muslim pieces. The bold patterns, elaborate embroidery, stunning prints, flowy fabrics (the VELVET, y’all)…I mean I could go on and on. I appreciated how cultural this show was – super unique with all the models wearing hijabs and hats. View the full show here.
Nolcha – Sonia Olla
(Source: Glitterbuzzstyle)
Sonia Olla is a Spanish designer, and she began her show with an intense Spanish cultural dance. It really left the crowd speechless. Red, white, gold, navy – the colors gave the collection a ton of flamenco vibes and the accessories were all about embroidery, tassels, and over-the-top hats…LOVE! View the full show here.
