Fashion week recap, leggo! Better late than never, I say 😉 September flew by so quickly, can’t believe it’s been a month since this seasons’ fashion week was in full force last month. I think this was my sixth (maybe seventh?) season of experiencing fashion week – and my love for the excitement and rush of the shows has still never dwindled. It’s definitely gotten harder and harder for me to juggle seeing all the shows I want to/get invited to – I have a full-time job and am a part-time blogger – BUT I do my best to attend my faves! NYFW can sometimes get overwhelming, but that’s the FUN part of the crazy, fast paced fashion industry, right?
Below are recaps of all the shows I was so lucky to be able to attend this year! LOVE, love, love!
CAAFD Fashion Designers Showcase: Helena Bajaj-Larsen
PC: CAAFD
Helena’s collection consisted of gorgeous pieces that were inspired from different parts of the world. She blended an array of modern and traditional styles together, known for showcasing her abstract, one of a kind fabrics. The deep colors and contrasted tones were absolutely breathtaking!
CAAFD Fashion Designers Showcase: Yufash
PC: CAAFD
The Yufash collection consists of luxurious evening wear made up of the most amazing fabrics. All the pieces give off the most confident vibes: they are super sophisticated, and have a unique, trendy style. Take a look at the shiny fabrics and metallic shimmer – LOVE!
CAAFD Fashion Designers Showcase: Sania Studio
PC: CAAFD
Eeeek, one of my fave shows for sure! Colored prints, beautiful silk fabric, gorgeous silhouettes – this collection has WOW written all over it. The patterns are crazy cool, funky fresh, and the pieces had a flair about them that made every single outfit pop.
CAAFD Fashion Designers Showcase: Patricia Wijaya
PC: CAAFD
Okay, everything about this collection is absolute royalty. The royal blues and shining gold colors gave off the most stunning vibes with the intrinsic pieces. The floor length gowns were made up of the prettiest fabrics of organza and velvet.
Dakun x Liu Yong
PC: Fashion Week Online
Loved this collection: streetwear that was red hot! The clothes consisted of rockin’ street style for women, men and kids. Hoodies, sweatpants, and more: the pieces had super cool graphics and logos that had the most intricate edging on the garments. The accessories were also a huge hit with the trendy sneakers and edgy backpacks. Loved the bold reds, army green prints and blacks.
Aranyani Lifestyles
PC: Richard Magazine
Bags on point! This show was all about handcrafted, beautifully designed handbags that were Indian inspired. The collections consisted of handbags, backpacks, clutches, and briefcases that were all super high-fashion and the perfect accessory for any luxurious look.
Kaven Liu Dimor
PC: Richard Magazine
Kaven’s collection is simple, yet stunning. This designer has a way of turning a basic piece into having the prettiest details. The collection was inspired by Chinese philosophers and incorporates the idealization of harmony between humans and nature. All the pieces are super modern, sleek and chic – made out of 100% silk and super classy.
Michael Costello
PC: Zimbio.com
Bold styles with all the perfect flair details. The Michael Costello collection had the absolute most eye-catching looks throughout the show. The pieces consisted of floor length maxis and skirts with bold, multicolored prints. The slits within the dresses were show-stopping and turned up the volume!
Cynthia Rowley
PC: Elle.com
Hands down probably the coolest, most unique fashion show I’ve been to! The entire thing was so creative – all the models rolled in spinning and doing tricks in their roller skates. Laughter and cheers filled the air as the girls were having so much fun dancing together, in their beautiful, bright printed clothing. The models wore ruffled dresses, stunning tops and detailed bottoms with gorgeous floral prints and eclectic designs. Playfulness was sprinkled throughout the entire RTW collection and I absolutely loved it.
