As most of y’all know, I recently made a HUGE lifestyle change and moved my New York life to the midwestern land of Chicago (see full blog post HERE). Moving to a new apt in the same city is one thing, but moving across the country into a different state is a whole other ballgame. When CJ & I made the decision to move, I started stressing out – all these thoughts started rushing to my head. How will we move all of our stuff there? It’s going to be such a pain. It’s going to be so expensive.
Luckily, all my fears were alleviated when I found out Piece of Cake Moving does cross country moves! If y’all remember, I used Piece of Cake back in June when I was moving into a new apartment, and they were the best!! Once again, Piece of Cake made my packing and moving journey so much easier.
Piece of Cake Moving sent a ton of medium + large boxes, a wardrobe box, packing tape, and paper for wrapping fragile items. I didn’t have to head to the store to buy moving supplies – it was all delivered so conveniently right to my apt! I personally hate packing, but this really made it so much simpler and took so much burden off of my shoulders.
Our two movers arrived on time, and were super nice, fast, and efficient. I could tell they truly cared about how they were handling all of our stuff, and I really appreciated that! For cross country moves, the team takes note of every single item they’re moving for you – to make sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle! The movers were completely thorough during the entire process. I was SO thankful for them and how amazing this journey was!
For anyone making a move, y’all can get a free quote on their site here – their prices are the lowest I’ve ever seen and totally guaranteed. You pay a small installment to reserve a date/time and then the rest of the payment the day before on your credit card or cash the day of. Remember, the company can provide packing supplies for you (details here) and also have options for storage as well.
Also, for long distance moves – you have an option to choose 24-48 hour delivery or 1-11 business days delivery. There’s obviously a difference in price range, but if you don’t want to wait – go with the 24-48 hour delivery window. We chose the latter, and I have to admit we got pretty antsy waiting haha!
As always, just a reminder to please, please, please tip your movers well! They work SO incredibly hard and deserve all the generosity.
