Welp, you read that right. Love is patient, and so are we. After months and months of wedding planning for my Dec 2020 wedding, CJ & I finally pulled the plug and made the decision to postpone our wedding to NEXT year Dec 2021. How are we feeling about everything? Not going to lie – disappointed, sad, all of the above. But, also relieved. I was checking the # of COVID cases in Florida literally every day for the past few months…and my hope continued to deteriorate. I didn’t want to wait any longer to postpone, cause I doubt it’ll be “normal” by this December [my venue is currently only allowing 10 people for weddings]. I have a big family, and many are older – plus, I couldn’t even fathom how I would feel if someone got sick at my wedding. I know everyone has different opinions on weddings nowadays, and I totally respect others’ decisions – but CJ & I just weren’t willing to put any of our loved ones at risk. It was definitely a tough decision on us, but having our big day be everything we (or should I say I, LOL) dreamed of is worth the wait. Plus, you only get to call your fiancé your fiancé for a short period of time 🙂 AND it’s fun being engaged! I can’t wait to marry CJ in 2021! I believe everything happens for a reason, so I’m trying my best to stay positive through it all. Guess y’all get to read more wedding planning content for a bit longer 🙂 #lovewillfindaWEI
To all my other 2020 corona brides – I feel you! Your big day will come, and when it does…it’ll be so special <3
With that being said, I got SO lucky that both my venue and all my wedding vendors have been SO flexible with me during this time. They all rescheduled, with no additional fees! I’m so grateful for how amazing they’ve all been to me during this time. When it comes to planning a wedding, make sure you trust who you are booking – this is huge. I’ve read so many horror stories of brides having to take vendors to court, sue, etc. I realized I haven’t even done a shoutout to my incredible vendors – highly recommend these guys if you happen to be planning a south Florida wedding! Excited that they will all be there for my big day.

And…here are the second set of our engagement photos (just ignore the date, lol) – taken by the amazing Elle Taylor Photography! Deets on location can be found in my previous Engagement Photos Part 1 post. I loved this stunning, unique black floral dress I wore from Mestiza New York. It was so fun to twirl in, and was perfect for that super elegant look that I was going for. And CJ looked so handsome in his dapper suit + favorite dress shoes from To Boot New York.

A huge thanks to Mestiza New York + To Boot New York for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
