Oh wow, I just realized I haven’t posted any wedding-related blog content since I last updated y’all that I postponed my wedding back in September (all the postponement deets here)! For those of you who don’t know – I was supposed to get married in 12/6/20, but we postponed (#covid) to 12/12/21. I needed a bit of a break from any wedding planning, but I’m all refreshed now and counting down the days to my new date! At least we’re less than a year out now, and I feel like it’ll be here before we know it. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I:
- Got engaged on a rooftop in NYC (full engagement story here)
- Asked our bridal party to be a part of our big day // chose bridesmaid dresses & groomsmen suits
- Had our fun engagement photoshoot in Chicago that I’ll never forget! Including some photos in this blog because I’m obsessed, and like, why not?!
- Bought my wedding dress in Houston – I seriously cannot WAIT for y’all to see it! It’s been so hard keeping it a secret and I just love it so much
- Sent out our original save the dates (lol).
- Booked mostof my wedding vendors (the biggest ones, anyways).
On that last point, I remember choosing my wedding vendors and it was a difficult process! Wedding planning is not the easiest for those of you that can be a bit indecisive (ha, me!). For all of my new bride-to-be’s, congrats and welcome to the wedding planning club!! I really want to be a source of inspiration and resource for you gals for wedding planning. It’s been such a fun journey for me so far, and I love to share any advice + insights along the way. First off, the first step in wedding planning is (arguably) the most important: picking your wedding venue! Your wedding venue coincides with your wedding date, and it’s the entire ambiance of your wedding! Location, aesthetic, vibes – it is such a big decision. When I was wedding planning, I felt a little bit lost in where I should start to look. I live in Chicago, and my fiancé and I are getting married in Boca Raton, Florida (side note: we have extended family there & love that it’s a destination wedding), but I knew I didn’t want to hire a full wedding planner even being out-of-state because I’m OCD and like being in control of planning stuff!
When I found out about ClubLife Weddings, I had to share with all my other bride-to-be’s! ClubLife Weddings is a great planning resource when searching for venues because they have over 200 wedding venues nationwide in their database – from country clubs, city clubs, stadium clubs, you name it! You don’t have to be a member to book at one of their private club setting venues. It’s so easy to search – you can search by any city, zip, or club you are interested in to find all the unique venue options. You can also search by location features: contemporary, city views, colonial, barn style, to name a few! See below for some gorgeous wedding venues on the site, for major inspo:
Tampa, FL: Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club
Woodlands, TX: The Woodlands Country Club
Love how all of the ClubLife Weddings venues are taking safety precautions including social distancing, outdoor settings, and small capacities. My wedding venue is at a country club, and if I knew about ClubLife Weddings at the beginning of my search – everything would have been a whole lot easier!
