After settling into a new apt and new neighborhood, I was on the hunt for my go-to eyelash extensions spot in NYC. I’ve been to some great NYC eyelash extension salons in the past, but none are nearby where I live – so not as convenient to go anymore. When I stumbled on Lash Bar Foula in Chelsea, I was so excited to book an appt with them.
I’ve always been the biggest advocate for eyelash extensions because 1. my eyelashes have always been short, thin and sparse. I’m actually pretty self conscious of my real eyelashes since they’re close to nonexistent, but I’m sharing a before photo with y’all to show what a difference extensions make for me. And 2. I love wearing minimal to no makeup everyday – it’s easy peasy and so convenient. I’ve gotten a lot of questions from you guys in the past if they damage your eyelashes, but I have been getting my eyelashes done for years now and I haven’t had any problems at all. It’s all about the care and maintenance after you get them.
Lash Bar Foula is a premium, high end Japanese lash salon [it’s so cute and nice inside!] that offers eyelash extensions of various lengths and looks – there is something for everyone, no matter what look you are going for. They’re taking major COVID precautions with masks and temperature checks, so I definitely felt safe inside. The bed was so comfy, I fell asleep during the process! The workers are so sweet and my technician Yoshiko was incredible. Yoshiko took her time to make sure everything was important. My eyelashes turned out so good – voluminous and full, but still natural looking!
Some eyelash extension tips:
- Don’t shower/wet your eyelashes for 24 hours after getting them done.
- Try not to touch your eyelashes as much as possible. The better you take care of them, the longer they will last.
- Don’t put mascara on them – it’s not needed anyways!
- A retouch-up is probably needed about 2-3 weeks in.
