30 and thriving! It’s my birthday, yall! And man, it seems like it was just yesterday that I was ‘celebrating’ my 29th birthday in the heart of COVID/quarantine time. To say that time flies is an understatement. I also remember when I was a little gal watching 13 going on 30 and thinking 30 seems like such an old age and so far off, LOL. Well, here we are – this is 30!
Reflecting back, I can truly say I loved my twenties. I’ve grown so so much over this past decade – from my career, to where I live, to my viewpoints, to all my life experiences. I’m so excited for this next decade though – and I’m kicking it off by getting married this year! …Which is a life experience I admittedly always thought would happen in my 20s, but I’m so happy and thankful the way things worked themselves out.
With that being said, this fun blog post is dedicated to 30 things I learned by age 30:
- Have patience with yourself.
- If your ‘life plan’ isn’t panning out the way you always imagined, don’t sweat it.
- Support your loved ones and be there for them.
- Value your time. Spend time on what matters.
- Skincare > Makeup
- Seek advice from others and open up.
- Learn from every good AND bad experience you have.
- Keep looking forward – the best is yet to come!
- Speak up for whats right.
- Work/life balance IS important.
- Every relationship had a purpose, and breakups will someday all make sense.
- Step outside of your comfort zone.
- Treat yourself! You deserve it. Can you spot the two birthday gifts in these pics I gifted myself for my 30th? π Let’s just say I’ve waited long enough for those babies.
- It’s okay if some friendships start to fizzle out. Sounds cliche, but the real ones will always be there.
- Ask a lot of questions.
- Learn to apologize when you’re wrong.
- Appreciate your parents and everything they did for you growing up.
- If you’re unhappy with your job, do something about it.
- Give back to those in need.
- FaceTime is gold.
- Have FUN!
- Travel, travel, travel.
- Look back on your memories and smile π
- Get a pet. It’ll change your life. I highly recommend cavapoos, heh.
- Never stop reminding your significant other how much you love them <3
- Don’t give up on things you’re passionate about.
- Prioritize.
- Plan for your future – as in save, save, save! But also don’t feel guilty when you have an occasional splurge π
- NEVER settle. Know your worth.
- Be grateful for each and every day.
